What does “official”, especially because it says “fifth official”, refer to here? Almost every tier list was done by a different group/institution/body. I always hate it when people throw this word around, and it happens especially often with tier lists.
Can you post a link of the official (heh, see what I did there?) announcement/release?

What I am basically saying is: It should rather say something like “official SSB64 League Tier list” and/or just “Fifth Tier list”, as there is no “the official”, unless it’s from Nintendo (lol). And “5th Tier List” refers to something like the fifth de facto community accepted tier list. The SSB Wiki started to adhere to this a while ago btw, it never says “official” anywhere unless it is “official by xyz”.
Btw I only found the Twitter/X announcement. Is there nothing on their website? Kinda disappointing announcement.

I think Yoshi’s placement is justified, surprised though that Yoshi is in the same tier as Pika. I think Kirby and Yoshi are closer to each other than Yoshi and Pika. The points also reflect what I am saying, so I am not sure why Yoshi was put into S, I think either Pika alone in S or Yoshi and Kirby both in S, but see my comment below about points.
I am totally not sure about Falcon, like what people think about the matchups. Like what is Falcon’s worst matchup?
Fox Puff Mario I think nobody disagrees with their placing.
I don’t know much about low tiers, but I still think Ness is worse than Donkey Kong and Samus. But again, I am pretty ignorant.
However: The points are always misleading, as they do not always capture how much one character is better than another. It can only detect this via placement variance. See Fox for example. Almost everyone agrees Pika Yoshi Kirby Falcon are above, but I imagine most people could say Fox is “not too far behind”. The only reason there is a point gap between Fox and tier A is not because he is that much worse, but just because people shuffle around Kirby Falcon and Yoshi. I think Fox could belong into tier A, but maybe I am wrong.
